General:

Below is a brief description of the overall function of a Level 2 Machine Operator (MO-2). It should be understood that the purpose of this Job Description is to provide a basic understanding of the fundamentals associated with the position listed above. It should be further understood that any employee might be required to perform in various positions on occasion. Primary Responsibilities of the Position:

  • This position is a broad description for a "General Machine Operator" position. Training related to the specific machine being operated by this position will take place on site.
  • This position ensures the accuracy or products being produced by placing them in to an approved fitment fixture or "Go- NO Go" Gauge, and inspecting for fitment to the fixture prior to sending to welding.
  • This position typically has no employees reporting directly to it, and this position reports directly to the department supervisor, and Production manager.
  • This position requires an individual who has a minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires a basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • This position requires ability to properly care, and maintain all the specific machine being operated, such as cleaning of the machine. Training on care and maintenance will be included in operator training.
  • Ability to read drawings and other manufacturing documents will be helpful.

 

Essential Duties of the Position:

  • Maintain accurate counts of parts produced on a daily basis.
  • Double check quantities of parts produced for accuracy.

 

  • Maintain a functional work area that is consistent with Five "S" and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Be open minded to new methods of automation which require non conventional practices with regard to fabrication.
  • Inspect parts produced to the company’s quality standards, and fitment to the fixture.

 

Equipment and Resources Used to Perform:

 

  • PPE (Glasses, gloves, etc..)
  • Tape Measure

 

Physical Activity:

  • Close and general vision
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • This position requires prolonged standing of up to 8 hours at a time.
  • This position requires the lifting of 50 lbs. Any lifting over 50 lbs is to be lifted with the assistance of other individuals.
  • This position requires reaching above and below the shoulders.
  • Position requires bending at the waist to pick up items from floor level.

General Description:

This position is responsible for scheduling orders and maintaining production levels

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret MRP/MPS in order to publish a weekly production schedule
  • Develop and report designated product line master plan to management on a monthly basis
  • Maintain and update weekly production schedules; report efficiencies
  • Verify availability of materials for published schedules
  • Schedule specified production work centers
  • Ensure that weekly schedules are followed by production personnel
  • Obtain weekly cycle counts on specified critical manufacturing materials
  • Create Baseline, Pipeline, and Hot List (Finished good shortage report) on a daily basis
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with MRP and or ERP systems
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Concepts
  • 1+ years experience in manufacturing environment

-          Maintain OEM exhaust data across all vehicle manufactures

-          Maintaining up to date competitive interchanges.

-          Proof All Catalogs CA, 49State, Performance, and any Midseason Marketing Catalogs

-          Create pricing packets for all new part numbers that are released from Engineering each week then enter into the MagnaFlow database once pricing is approved by Management making sure all calculations were entered correctly

-          Data Marketing Liaison- handle any data that is being used for marketing material (Load Sheets , MPG’s, Catalogs, or Customer Projects with data sets involved)

-          Preparing reports for action or follow-up as needed

-          Making recommendations for improvements

-          Maintaining quality service standards

-          Maintaining product and technical knowledge

-          Maintaining any Internal and External Data Needs

-          Any Data Request that is needed Company wide

 

Requirements:

-          High School Diploma or GED

-          At least three years of experience working in automotive aftermarket

-          Microsoft Office especially strong Excel skills required

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Quality Inspectors examine incoming materials and work in process and finished goods at all stages to make sure standards are met. 

 

Customer and company needs are met by ensuring that products manufactured meet quality specifications and Customer expectations through identification of non-conforming materials and products.  Non-conformances are reported to appropriate management through the Non-Conforming Product system.  Quality Inspectors support  continuous process improvement and preventive maintenance programs through data collection and analysis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

-Follow company inspection procedures and acceptance criteria..

-Read and understand blueprints and Work Orders.
-Collect samples for testing in accordance with sampling plans.

-Perform dimensional inspections on all incoming materials and components as per drawings.

-Perform visual inspections of cosmetic materials and parts.

-Prepare inspection and test reports.

-Initiate Non Conformance Reports and tag or quarantine non-conforming materials and products.

 

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

 

Mininum 6 months as an Inspector in a manufacturing environment.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:


- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Math and computer skills (Excel, Word, Access).

- Working knowledge of QC inspection tools and measuring devices/instruments.
- A capacity to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast paced work environment.

- Passion, tenacity and perseverance for quality.

- Bilingual (English-Spanish) beneficial.

 

EDUCATION AND PRIOR TRAINING:

 

-Community college and/or Technical Trade School Certificate in Quality or Manufacturing; or minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing company. 

-ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System knowledge preferable.

Responsibilities:

  • Maximize efficiency by assisting with equipment layouts, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization
  • Determine components and tools required to achieve Manufacturing goals according to product specifications
  • Possible assignments to lead specific projects from concept to completion, guided by the Plant Manager and/or Production Manager
  • Provide Drawing (CAD) support to Manufacturing supervisors as needed
  • Perform review of processes to investigate the different possibilities of welding parts by hand, robot, or machine operations 
  • Familiarity and use of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures

 

 

Requirements:

  • Certificate  or Degree in a related engineering field
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CAD Experience
  • Able to work toward, and support the growth of the overall team.

·         Receptive to new ideas, and manufacturing methods

·         Capable of performing a variety of complicated tasks

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing production, and General Operations for the xxx department in the Oceanside  production facility for Magnaflow.

 

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Managing and directing production staff with regard to production of parts

·         Directing staff to proper areas and monitor daily changes

·         Ensuring that production goals are met

·         Identifying and help correct schedules efficiencies,

·         Ensuring equipment is maintained, and fully functional

·         Communicating any schedule deviations with Planner

·         Recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

·         Ensuring proper safety procedures are being followed

·         Ensuring proper use and allocation of  materials and ensure that inventory is properly moved through out IFS

·         Maintaining  5-S policies and procedures

·         Maintaining communication between all supervisors and personnel

·         Counsel employees and suggest ways to change their habits.

·         Ensure that all training requirements are met

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College course work in Manufacturing or Engineering Preferred
  • 3-5  years experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to operate all machines within the specific work center. 
  • The ability to understand and interpret Work Order’s, B.O.M.’s, blue prints, and production reports
